Hello and welcome to my blog!
I am a recent graduate of Environmental Science at the University of Southampton.
This blog aims to mainly be about my travelling experiences, but may also dabble in some environmental issues.
I first discovered my love of travelling when I went on a trip to Ecuador with school in the summer of 2008. Despite growing up in an army family I had only been to France and Spain on holidays before Ecuador. Although I spent a year in Cyprus I was only 1 so I don’t really remember it. Once I got back I immediately decided I wanted a gap year and soon settled on Africa being my destination of choice due to my love of animals. I have met some amazing people and experienced a variety of different cultures on my travels.
As for my choice of degree I have had an interest in the environment since an early age and with environmental issues, such as peak oil and climate change, becoming of more and more importance I felt I needed to know more about them. I specialised in biodiversity and conservation as I feel these are essential topics to cover in order to understand how life on earth works and reduce any negative impacts humans have on the environment.
I hope you enjoy reading my blog. All comments and feedback are welcome.
